What a Typical Evening Looks Like For Us
After picking the boys up from school (I am SO happy I only have to drive to two schools instead of three this year!), extracurriculars, sports or whatever it may be for that particular day, we are normally all home by 6pm. I will usually give the boys an after school snack. They LOVE to eat. I think the amount they can eat as a “snack” would be considered a small meal for others haha. I’ll cook homemade dinners using one of these recipes during the week (Monday through Wednesday), Thursdays are leftover nights and we eat out during the weekends. I’ll pour myself a glass of wine usually while either cooking dinner or before. Once the kitchen is cleaned up after dinner and the boys play for a bit, Mark and I will tackle getting the boys ready for bed. This happens around 7:30 or 8pm.
For Mark and I, we get ready for bed by putting on our comfy sleep/loungewear clothes. We love Jockey for their athleisure so it’s no surprise that we are fans of their sleepwear too. I have their Radiance kimono/tank/shorts set (the pieces are sold separately so feel free to mix and match) in a rich plum color. Jockey pieces are true to size so I ordered my usual small and it fits perfectly. Mark is wearing the blue top & pants fleece set (also sold separately if you don’t want to be matchy-matchy). Warm, but breathable, his sleepwear is great for colder weather and something he could definitely pack with him when we go to Park City in the winter. Mark is wearing a medium in both.

Tips on Winding Down at Night
- Burn your favorite candle – I have candles allover the house in just about every room. They are my favorite for feeling cozy and calming down for the night.
- Establish a nighttime skincare routine – Removing makeup from a long day is the best feeling. Sticking to a routine will leave your skin refreshed and it helps me to feel calm before bed. Tip: wear the kimono robe while doing this so you don’t get your sleeping clothes wet.
- Limit screen time – We are adamant about limiting the boys’ screen time but sometimes forget to limit ourselves. The blue light from our screens can mess with the quality of sleep, so I do just a bit of work and Mark and I will watch an episode of whatever show we’re currently obsessed with at the time then it’s lights out. Speaking of… we do need a new show right now. Send us your recommendations!

Is there anything you have to do every night to wind down for bed? I would love to hear! And don’t forget to leave me any TV show recommendations 🙂
