Business casual. Many of us hear those two words and we automatically think “oh, great.. black pants and a muted blouse”. That’s a total misconception nowadays! Although there isn’t a day that goes by where I take for granted that I am able to work in comfy joggers and an oversized sweater, I still love a chic, put together workwear outfit.
Before I took the leap into blogging, I worked in the corporate fashion world where business casual was required five days a week. The main questions I asked myself when buying business casual pieces was: “Is this work appropriate?” and “Am I going to be able to wear this outside of work?” Because after all, you don’t want to invest your money on something you can wear for only one occasion. If the answer is yes to both — it’s going in my closet!
For my first outfit, I picked out this sweater paired with this nude pencil skirt. It’s quite amazing the difference it makes to your overall look when you tuck in your top! For the finishing touches, I’m wearing a pair of nude pumps (a staple for any closet).
My second outfit, I’m wearing an ivory cable knit sweater paired with these black skinnies. For my shoes, I’m wearing leopard pumps to add a little flair to my neutral-toned outfit. These pumps are super similar!
