In my opinion, nothing looks better than a great tan! Who doesn’t want to look like they’ve just come back from the beach?! A healthy glow always makes me feel a little more put together, and I feel like my outfits always look more finished too. So now that I’ve perfected my self-tanning routine over the last few years, I wanted to share my ABSOLUTE favorite self tanners with you, especially since most of us could probably use a little extra color right now!
Face Drops
I’ve finally found my new favorite self tanner for the face… these bronzing face drops are amazing. I add 2 drops into my moisturizer every morning and use them year round.
The more drops you use, the darker color you’ll get. Make sure you wash your hands after applying though! I like these better than the Tan-Luxe drops, because the tan fades more evenly. When I was using the Tan-Luxe drops I found the tan looked splotchy when it wore off. I like having self-tanning drops specifically for the face that are easy to incorporate into my daily routine.
Winter Favorites
I have two different go-tos during winter. I love the Tanologist water because it’s clear and really easy to apply. Plus, it doesn’t have that funky scent that a lot of self-tanning products have. It takes about 4-5 hours for the final color to develop.
Another new favorite during winter is the tanning butter by Tan-Luxe. This is amazing because it’s a lotion so it does double duty by also moisturizing your skin during the dry winter months. You can also mix in the Tanologist tanning water for a deeper color. I don’t use a mitt to apply either of these products, but I do make sure to wash my hands after I apply any tanning products.
Summer Favorites
For summertime, I like a darker color, so I use the Loving Tan mousse. It’s also easy to apply, but you definitely want to use a mitt. This is the Loving Tan mitt I use. I find it’s not quite as forgiving as Tanologist, so make sure to put the mousse on your mitt versus directly on your skin. Otherwise, it will cause your tan to be uneven, as you can see in the photo above.
The color develops within 2 hours, and it’s a deeper and darker color than the products I use during winter, which is more fitting for summertime.
For reference, I use the dark shade in both the Loving Tan mousse and the Tanologist water. These are all by far my favorite self-tanning products out there right now, and they make it so easy to achieve a healthy glow without damaging your skin in the sun or in tanning beds. I highly recommend any of them, so I hope you’ll give them a try and find what works best for you 🙂

Jaime
