Who can reminisce the days when the only option was to go to the store to shop for school supplies? There was always a chaotic excited feeling getting ready for the new school year; the aisles filled with parents and their kids checking off their school supply list off one by one. The great thing nowadays is we can do back to school shopping all online. No more dealing with long lines and overcrowded aisles. Aside from that, it helps prevent making unnecessary purchases. It’s a rare occasion to go into the store, pass the toy aisle and your child not pleading with you to get a new toy or whatever it may be. You might also find yourself not having to talking your way out of buying that cute throw pillow you passed walking through the home section.
I already have the boys covered with their back to school clothes (also from Walmart). They picked out their outfits from head to toe. I was so surprised to see how it affordable it was and they were so excited to try on their order. They ended up loving everything! You can see the post – here.
Year after year the kids’ school supplies list is always pretty standard. Pencils, folders, journals, a box of Kleenex, etc. Although I like to throw a few fun, creative things like coloring books or special markers. Here are a few other things we are definitely adding to our back to school shopping cart:
Notebooks – Kids go through these so fast! Instead of having to reorder or stop by the store to buy new ones throughout the school year, I buy the multi-packs. It’s usually cheaper buying them as a pack too so win-win.
Folders – Similarly to the notebooks, I buy folders in multi-packs too. They usually need a folder for each of their class and having three boys, the folders add up. Might as well be prepared! Walmart has so many essential multi-pack options like these glue sticks and mechanical pencils.
First Day of School Chalkboard – So this is something that I haven’t used, but I love the idea of it! It makes a great keepsake and something your kids can look back on when they get older.
Colored Pencils – I think the standard is the 12 or 24 count? I came across this 50 count colored pencil and it’s $6.97. Maybe it’s excessive but I feel like kids love having all the color options haha.
Back to School Backpacks and Lunchboxes
Of course, we didn’t forget about backpacks and lunchboxes! We’re getting those online too. Eli and Fynn have outgrown the ‘cute’ backpacks with the graphics and designs on them. They lean more towards solid or two-toned colors. For lunch packaging, I found these lunch kits that would be super convenient and help keep things organized. Here’s what we’re looking at for backpacks and lunchboxes (the graphic ones are the ones Zander likes):
Walmart offers free 2-day shipping on most orders over $35. If for some reason you need your order before then, you can take advantage of the option to order online and pickup in store on the same day! When do your kids go back to school and have you started back to school shopping yet?
