Hi everyone! We are back in Park City after glamping and our adventures at Lake Powell. I know many of you are looking for a fun, outdoor getaway so I wanted to share our glamping trip recap with you. It’s perfect for the family or even as a couples getaway! I’ll be sharing our Lake Powell recap next week if you’re interested in that and want to check back then as well 🙂
Where to Go Glamping in Utah
We stayed at Conestogo Ranch. If you are coming from Park City, it’s about a 2.5 hour drive. Our previous glamping experience was at Under Canvas a few years ago. You can’t even compare the two. Conestogo is ten times better. They have twice as many bathrooms as tents/wagons and are constantly cleaning and sanitizing them.
A Look Into the Wagon Lodging
What makes the glamping experience unique are the cute tents and wagons you can stay in. There are options for groups up to two, four and six. We made our reservation for the wagon that sleeps up to six. Although there are only five of us, next time we will stay in one of the tents for more room. There is one tent that has its own bathroom! Photo below to show what it looks like. I want this one next time.
What to Do at Conestogo Ranch
The kids love to roam. The resort has bicycles they can ride all around. The main reason we wanted to get out of Dallas was to give the boys more outdoor time. This place has so many fun outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding. If you plan on hiking, feel free to check out my Summer Hiking Checklist to make sure you have everything you need.
Bear Lake is right across the street so you can also take advantage of the water activities. You can bring your own equipment or they have rental options for jet skis and kayaks to name a few. I definitely recommend renting a boat. But rent in the morning because the afternoon gets really choppy. You can see the full list of activities – here.
Each wagon has their own campfire so as for any traditional camping experience, we made s’mores at night! They give each cabin/tent a bag with the s’mores 🙂 More on food/dining below.
Dining at Conestoga Ranch
My absolute favorite part of Conestoga Ranch was the restaurant. They flew in a chef from New York to run it. It’s called Campfire Grill. People come from all over to eat there and you don’t have to have a glamping reservation to eat there. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area!
