Hi friends! After sharing a few tips on how I work from home and how important it is for me to have a designated space to be productive (in this blog post), I had some of you ask to see my office space so I thought I could do a virtual tour to show you everything. This post will actually be a 2-in-1 because my work from home area also doubles as my closet so this may be helpful if you’re looking to do some cleaning and reorganization during this time. Below is a video of an overview of everything I’ll go more in depth of in this blog post. I also got some questions about some of my decor like the rug and office desk so I’ll add links to those too!
This is where I keep the clothes I’m wearing that’s in season. I have all my jackets on one rack by itself because I wear these all year around. My heavier coats are put away in a different closet that I will mention more about later. I try to keep my pants, skirts, and sweater sets on a rack of its own.
Then on the left is my other rolling rack where I have my dresses and bathing suit cover-ups separated. Once fall rolls around is when I will put away these pieces and bring out in season sweaters and such.
These are my in-season sweaters meaning whites and again, what I can wear all year-round. I put all my black sweaters away because I’m not wearing them as much in the spring.
My Garment Racks for Easy Organization
I got my built-in wardrobe done in this room about almost two years ago and they are AMAZING for maximizing your space. I store my all my shoes, large and small bags along with my belts rolled up on the shelves. I also have my go-to jeans that I wear all the time folded on a shelf. In the drawers, I have my other jeans, older jewelry that I don’t wear as often and other miscellaneous things. Putting together this post reminds how much I need to do a closet clean-out!
I keep some of my little earring studs in our master bathroom, but for the most part, my statement earrings that I tend to reach for I have sitting on a jewelry organizer on my desk. I also have another organizer for my necklaces that I wear all the time. If you missed it, I published a blog post yesterday talking all about my favorite dainty layering necklaces.
I like to keep my work from home space as minimalistic as possible. All I have is my laptop, notepad and pencil. Clutter is super distracting for me so I don’t keep papers or anything else out. I have my desk facing towards the window. It’s a much better view than the wall 😊
Then I have a separate closet that I do clean out regularly. I don’t have too many formal events, but this closet is where I keep any formal wear. Basically, it’s where I store my pieces I know I won’t be wearing for awhile. Another example, I have a couple sweater dresses and faux fur coats that I don’t need out right now, but I’ll switch them out on the racks once fall comes around. Then I have some other random things like shoe covers, clutches, extra hangers, travel backpacks and the boys’ home school stuff. 😂
So because my closet/home office was previously a guest bedroom, there is a bathroom that’s never used. You guys never see it, because it’s not pretty. Piles and piles of boxes. Believe it or not, it is organized, there are just a ton of boxes so it inevitably looks messy. I don’t have photos, but it is in the video above.
I would love to see and share your work from home setups and how you organize your closet! Make sure to tag me in your stories ! Maybe it will inspire others to get creative with your space too 🙂
Have a great day!
xo, Jaime
