Snake print and midi skirts… love them both! As much as I love wearing jeans and leggings for fall, it’s fun to switch it up with a pleated midi skirt – an animal print one at that. The skirt I’ll be sharing two different ways to wear is this 1. State Snake Print Midi Skirt. For sizing reference, I’m wearing a US4 and I’m 5’6.5″.

Style Tip #1: Wear it Untucked
If you’re not a fan of tucking in your shirts, I completely understand! If you want to go the route of leaving your top untucked, definitely find a top that has cropped fit. It will look more flattering. It doesn’t have to be crazy cropped, just slightly will make all the difference. The perfect example is this chunky knit sweater. It’s a new favorite of mine, hands down. I originally bought it in the beige, but knew I would get a lot of wear out of the black one as well so now I have it in two colors. It looks oversized in the stock photos and Free People is known to fit large so I initially ordered it in the extra small. Turns out, it wasn’t oversized as it looks and I recommend sticking with your normal size. The one I’m wearing in the photos is the small.
I styled outfit number one with my newest Golden Goose sneakers that I am head over heels for. The silver studs go nicely with the grey tones in the skirt. I’ve gotten several questions about how I tie the laces on my sneakers so I recorded a quick tutorial and saved it to my Instagram highlights if you want to check that out.

Style Tip #2: Wear it Tucked All the Way Around
Here is a much more dressed up version. It’s suitable for an outing with the girls or for date night. Instead of leaving a top untucked with this skirt, you can wear it with a top tucked all the way around. The skirt has an elastic waistband so for me, it makes it easier to tuck in thicker sweaters. Once you’ve tucked in your sweater, to avoid having your sweater look like it’s tucked in board straight, I like to pull extra fabric out enough to where it’s overlapped and covering the skirt’s waist. It adds more texture to your outfit and looks a lot more flattering and stylish.
I absolutely love the puff shoulder/ruched sleeve trend. I admit that I’ve purchased a number of tops in this style, but none that were made from sweatshirt material like this one. It’s so comfy and would look great with jeans too. I’m wearing a small.
I’m a huge fan of wearing midi skirts this fall. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of them either, feel free to read my round up of favorite midi skirts for more style inspiration.
Have a great one!!
xo, Jaime
