This dedicated Golden Goose post is long overdue as many of you know how much I love my Golden Goose sneakers and just how often I wear them. They’re my absolute favorite shoes EVER. The studded ones above were my very first pair but they haven’t been restocked since! They are one of my faves so I’m always on the lookout to see if they come back in stock. The silver snake print sneakers are also a favorite that’s been sold out, but I’m linking a similar pair here. The gold ones on the bottom are a great basic too and would be a perfect first pair to start with.
I even bought my husband, Mark, a pair of Golden Goose for his birthday so in case you didn’t know, Golden Goose has sneakers for men too! By no means are they an affordable everyday purchase with most ranging between $380 to upwards of $500, but they are worth every penny in my opinion. I’ll share why I love them so much and a quick & easy video tutorial on how I tie the laces as I’ve had a few who were curious about that.
Why I Think Golden Goose Sneakers are Worth the Price Tag
To answer that question simply, they go with EVERYTHING. Leggings, jeans, dresses, skirts, you name it. Unlike certain styles of shoes that can only be worn in certain seasons, these can be worn all-year round. They have become a staple piece for my closet and something I’ll always bring with me if I’m doing any sort of traveling because I don’t have to worry if they’ll match with a particular outfit and they’re great for any destination.
I’m all about comfort and have always loved the cozy, casual look. These sneakers incorporated into my closet so effortlessly and check all the boxes in terms of the style I was looking for.
Golden Goose Sizing
I am a 7.5 in most shoes and I size up a half in Golden Goose so I wear a 38. Sometimes they can feel a little loose so I will tighten the laces and re-tie the little knots every few months (video tutorial below).
What Socks to Wear With Golden Goose Sneakers
The quality of these shoes is top notch. Given that they are an investment piece, I expect them to still be durable after being worn over time. I’ve had mine for years and they’ve held up as I hoped they would. Because of the low profile, I wear these no show socks with them.
My Favorite Retailers to Shop for Golden Goose Sneakers
There are a lot of different retailers out there who sell Golden Goose, but my favorites are Farfetch and SSENSE. I find that they have the most diverse selection. If you’re on the fence about them or overwhelmed with all of the different styles to choose from, I recommend trying out the minimalistic styles like silver or gold. Or if you’re looking for something a little wild and different, this all-over glitter pair is sooo fun.

I just realized that I never replied to your comment. Thanks for the response! I posted a link to this post on a FB group that I’m in for GG asking if anyone has this shoe or can give me any info.. I usually prefer to buy new but have bought second hand when pairs that I didn’t see before come available by others in gently used condition. I’m a 38 too…lmk if you ever want to sell these!
P.S. I forgot to ask…what is written where it would normally say GGDB SSTAR? It looks like Smock or something like that. I’ve never seen that before.
How do you prevent Heal slippage . I tried to tie the lace shown on your video and It’s keep slipping out
Mine do have a little slippage at the heal but it helps if you go to the laces and tighten them starting from where your toe is and all the way up to the top. Then retie them in the little knots like in the video. I have to do that every few months because they do get loose. I hope that helps ! 💗
Do they stretch out at all? I’m a 10 normally, but will occasionally purchase 10.5. Debating between 40 or 41.
I always size up in Golden Goose ! I’m usually a 7.5 and I order the 38 so I’d recommend going up

Just a preference 😊 and I also hate having to tie the laces every time I wear them so knotting the laces like this helps !

I would definitely recommend going size up in superstar. I have made a huge mistake in ordering size 40 . I should have gone for size 41. Too late to exchange. I am hoping that they will stretch with time.

Hey. I just got my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers and the right toe is dented out of the box. Is this a common worn-effect feature or shipping damage? Do they dent easily? I love them and this particular style is sold out (the laminated suede European exclusives), but I also don’t want to keep defective $600 sneakers because the dent does bother me.
