Hi friends! I had questions about which resort we were staying at a couple of weeks ago and a request for more resortwear/vacation outfits. I thought I would knock out both with this blog post 😊 Last year we went to the Mayakoba Rosewood Resort in Mexico. It was SO beautiful. I have a blog post recap – here. We really wanted to go back, but I know right now is not the best time to travel out of the country. We ultimately went with one of our favorite all-inclusive vacay spots – Bungalows Key Largo!

What You Need to Know About Staying at Bungalows Key Largo
We stayed at the Bungalows two years ago right after it opened so it’s still fairly a new resort ! About a year after they first opened, there was actually a fire that broke out at their beach house (the main building). They found the cause was due to a food truck that was too close to the building and caused a spark. Fortunately no guests were injured and the fire didn’t spread to the bungalows at all. Anyway! I just wanted to mention that because I had a few questions coming through about it.

What I absolutely love about this resort is that all of the rooms are bungalows! I say this because at some places when you are booking your room, you have to choose between different types of rooms or suites. At the Bungalows, there are only two types – the Waterfront or Garden bungalows.
I know most of us would probably hands down choose the water front rooms but honestly, the garden bungalows are just as gorgeous. You can see from my pictures that the landscaping is magnificent – the palm trees, decor, etc. It’s impossible to get a bad room here. Oh and another thing that I like about it is that it’s not a ginormous resort. It has a more quaint feel which is perfect if you are needing a relaxing getaway.

Did I mention this resort was all-inclusive?! I am usually not a fan of all-inclusive resorts just because in my experience, I feel like the food is not the best and the drinks seem watered down. I would say the Bungalows version of all-inclusive is actually the other way around. The food is amazing and you have to be careful with the drinks. They are strong!! By the way, this is not a sponsored post. We have just always had a great time here. ☺️

I will go in more detail about dining and all the activities you can do, but overall the Bungalows is an amazing resort and we will definitely be back. The ONLY downside of the whole resort is there isn’t an actual beach. I think it’s fine, but I sometimes I like to go somewhere with a real beach – sand, ocean and all. Just keep that in mind if you are wanting to go to a beach destination, the Bungalows might not be your first option. However, if you are looking for a relaxing summer getaway, you will love this place.
Dining at Bungalows Key Largo
There are 3 dinner restaurants on the resort and I’ll share a little secret about one of the restaurants! There is one really nice restaurant where you do have to pay called Bogie & Bacall’s. Mark and I had dinner there one night and it was great. The resort is casual attire but this restaurant has a formal attire dress code. I shared a few resort dinner outfit ideas below! If you stay for at least 4 nights, they include this dinner for free. However, if you want to skip the 6-course meal, this place has a bar upstairs and we found out that they actually have a secret menu. So if you go to the bar, you can just do snacks. They have things like craft mac and cheese, steak tartar, hamburgers, etc.
What to Do at Bungalows Key Largo
We spent most of our time laying out and getting some much-needed sun. Although if you saw on stories, we did do the fun water trikes. These toys including kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel gear are free. You just go down, grab one and go. They also have activities that you can pay extra to do like their tiki boats, sunset cruises and more. There’s a quite a bit of options. You can see them all – here. Now… time for vacation style outfits!!
