What to Keep in Mind While Swimsuit Shopping
I went swimsuit crazy last summer and Amazon is to blame for it. Finding the right swimsuit is a lot like jean shopping. It’ll probably take a couple of try-ons before you find the right one. As a mom, there are certain boxes that need to be checked when I’m swimsuit shopping. Otherwise, it’s getting returned. I don’t normally do two pieces, but I found several Amazon swimsuits that covers the midsection area well. Details like pom poms or ruffles are other things to look for when shopping for a bathing suit because it takes attention away from areas you don’t to be in focus. I also look for bathing suits that aren’t too revealing aka mom-friendly. For me, the bottoms has to have good moderate coverage and the overall fit should be flattering to the body – not too tight, not too loose.
I wanted to be sure to share plenty of options for you girls so you’ll find different colors and prints separated by one and two-piece options below. Everything is under $30 and super affordable!!
A Note on Sizing: for reference, I’m 5’6.5″ and I’m wearing a small in all of the swimsuits below.
Cute One Piece Swimsuits Under $30
My lipstick shade matches perfectly with the swimsuit! It’s in the shade ‘Lady Danger’.
Flattering Two Piece Swimsuits That Aren’t Too Revealing
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would like this style swimsuit. I have a super short torso and no hips so they tend to not look right on me. This one is under $20 so I figured I would give it a whirl! I ended up LOVING how it fit especially because the bottoms go up higher. There are several color/pattern options. I got these two!
A plus when it comes to two piece sets is that you can mix and match! I grabbed this white bandeau bikini top because I know I can wear it with pretty much any of my swim bottoms. The one I’m wearing is sold out from last year (from American Eagle), but here is a super similar one.
The matching top to the tropical print Amazon swimsuit is too small for me, but it was only $20 and I’m obsessed with the bottoms so I ended up keeping it. For reference, I went with the small.
Instead of wearing it as a halter top, I tucked the straps in to wear it as a bandeau!
I just got back from Park City and currently recovering from an awful cold (it was FREEZING during the trip) so beach weather sounds amazing right about now. In the meantime, I’ll be making one of my soup recipes and preparing warmer weather content! Let me know if you have any suggestions!
xo, Jaime
