I just turned 40 this year and one of my biggest skin concerns I wanted to address was anti-aging and my neck area. Before going to Formula Wellness, I have never even had a regular facial before! I mention more about that in this blog post (and also more about their IV therapies – LOVE them). After talking more about my problem areas, my esthetician recommended that I try their Fractora treatment for my face and neck. Fractora is basically microneedling that uses radio frequency with PRP (short for platelet-rich plasma). PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production which thickens and tightens skin. The end result is smoother, rejuvenated skin, reduced fine lines and skin tightening. You can choose to do just your face, neck or both like I did. Fractora can also be used to address stretch marks and underarm sweating. Pricing info can be found – here.
Sharing my before and after below and I also have photos from each day of the healing process if you scroll down a little further.
Similar Treatments to Factora
Between simple facials to Fractora, I’ve also tried two other treatments that are similar to Fractora. First was a Fraxel laser treatment. It addresses acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles but does not create the channel that Fractora does. I also got a Vampire facial which is microneedling with PRP but without radio frequency. It has the same skin benefits as the Fraxel laser treatment. The question of which treatment works best for you depends on your skin type. Luckily, the girls at Formula Wellness are offering free skin consultations if you mention JAIME. By mentioning me, you also get 10% off any of their services (including this one) as well as their skincare products and the collagen drink!
Does Fractora Hurt?
They give you numbing cream before but fair warning, the procedure does hurt. On the pain scale, I would say it was about an 8. My forehead hurt the least and the neck hurt the worst by far. If you are just doing your face, it’s really not that bad . My face was tingly and itchy during the recovery process so even though it looked like it hurt , it didn’t!
My Overall Experience with Fractora
As far as how I feel on the Fractora, I think my skin is actually still repairing from it. If you have freckles, acne scars, or dark spots, it significantly helps reduce the appearance of them ! I can’t say I look 10 years younger. After my recovery (you’ll see below), I joked about how I better look younger lol BUT I was an exception as far as how long it took for my skin to recover. 95% of people only have 3-4 days downtime tops. Mine was more like 5-7 days. It’s recommended to get 3 treatments to get the best results. After that, you go in just once a year for maintenance. I had my first Fractora treatment in January so I documented the 7 day healing process with before and after pictures to show you what it’s like. The process wasn’t the prettiest, but these photos are unedited with no filter.
Day 1 After Fractora
Day 2 After Fractora
My face was very swollen and felt dry. You can wear makeup which I did and you can see in the second picture how much better it looks.
Day 3 After Fractora
This was the worst day throughout the entire healing process. 3rd photo was with makeup and a filter 🙂
Day 4 After Fractora
Day 5 After Fractora
I could finally tell my skin was starting to heal and become less swollen.
Day 6 After Fractora
Day 7 After Fractora
1 Month After Fractora
This is roughly one month after my first Fractora treatment. I only have on sunscreen and lipstick !
Don’t forget, the girls at Formula Wellness gave me a discount code to share with y’all! Just mention JAIME and the 10% discount works for Fractora treatment as well as anything else they offer including their skincare products and the collagen drink.
Also if you mention this, you can get a free skin consultation with their awesome esthetician, Nikki. She’s at the Dallas location. If the Frisco location is more accessible to you, you can ask for Caerissa ! They will assist you on getting on the right products specifically for your skin type.
Let me know if you have any questions! Have a great day 🙂
xo, Jaime

Did you get a facial 4 to 6 weeks after the Fractora to smoothen the outer skin?
