I get asked allll the time which brand of jeans I prefer, Agolde or Mother. It is such a popular question that I thought I’d do a little review and comparison for you. Both are a great choice for a pricier denim that will last you a lifetime. And they are definitely both worth the price! Especially because I see them on sale all the time from retailers like Shopbop and Revolve, so you don’t always have to pay full price. Agolde and Mother jeans are both high quality denim that are easy to wear and won’t go out of style.
For sizing reference, I wear a size 26 in all styles from both brands.
AGOLDE
These are the Agolde Riley crop style in the color bitter.
These are the Agolde Riley high rise jeans in a straight crop and the color zephyr wash. If I had to choose one style from Agolde, the Riley would be my top choice. They are an all-time favorite! Agolde jeans tend to be on the stiff side, but I find they soften with wear. The stiffer denim definitely sucks in the tummy more than Mother jeans.
What I also like about the Agolde Riley jeans is that you can still tuck them into taller boots like knee high boots or combat boots. This makes them more versatile and they can be styled with more outfit options.
MOTHER
These are the Mother Insider crop jeans in the color dancing on coals. Mother jeans have more stretch than Agolde jeans and like I said before, they aren’t as stiff. Some people prefer that in their jeans, so it’s something to keep in mind when comparing the two brands. I like this style in particular because the length is perfect on me to go with all my different booties.
I like having both options to choose from, because sometimes you want a different look or feel on certain days. Some days I need more stretch and some days I want more tummy control. If I HAD to choose (because I’m asked all the time!!), I would go with Agolde jeans. Primarily because of how flattering they are in the waist and butt. And the Riley style is my pick of Agolde jeans.
Hopefully this helps! It’s important to know the difference when deciding to purchase a more expensive brand of jeans.
